tourism professionals committed to respecting the environment and promoting local products in the French, Belgian, and Luxembourgish territories.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, our pride drives us to highlight our region, with its remarkable assets such as the forest, and here particularly the ponds and characteristic hedgerows of Thi\u00e9rache. <a href=\"https:\/\/relaisdugland.com\/en\/unusual-accommodation-liglhoux\/\">The Igl&#8217;houx<\/a> is notably located in the heart of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parc-naturel-ardennes.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Ardennes Regional Natural Park<\/a>, which is also involved in actions and projects aimed at promoting and supporting the territory sustainably.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/relaisdugland.com\/en\/unusual-accommodation-liglhoux\/\">The Igl&#8217;houx<\/a> has been a member of <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.visitardenne.com\/demarche-ecotouristique-rejoindre-le-club-ardenne-ecotourism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Ardenne Ecotourism Club<\/a> since 2022, joining a network of over 170 members.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex flex-grow flex-col max-w-full\">\n<div class=\"min-h-[20px] text-message flex flex-col items-start gap-3 whitespace-pre-wrap break-words [.text-message+&amp;]:mt-5 overflow-x-auto\" data-message-author-role=\"assistant\" data-message-id=\"6d4ec7d2-cfdc-456a-8b07-03c039d06952\">\n<div class=\"markdown prose w-full break-words dark:prose-invert light\">\n<h1>A sustainable commitment<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"flex flex-grow flex-col max-w-full\">\n<div class=\"min-h-[20px] text-message flex flex-col items-start gap-3 whitespace-pre-wrap break-words [.text-message+&amp;]:mt-5 overflow-x-auto\" data-message-author-role=\"assistant\" data-message-id=\"e64ebbc2-c11a-4fc2-9d18-9b6194d17117\">\n<div class=\"markdown prose w-full break-words dark:prose-invert light\">\n<p>Although this club isn&#8217;t comparable to a label, criteria from a quality charter covering the three pillars of sustainable development (economic, social, and environmental) are established to ensure the level of eco-responsibility of the accommodation and to encourage the owner to continue efforts in this direction, with the expert advice of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ardennes.com\/espace-pro\/qui-sommes-nous-2\/lagence-de-developpement-touristique-des-ardennes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Ardennes Tourist Development Agency<\/a> and possible assistance.<\/p>\n<p>The idea is to meet a growing demand from tourists seeking meaning and a return to nature.<\/p>\n<p>Committing to <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.visitardenne.com\/demarche-ecotouristique-rejoindre-le-club-ardenne-ecotourism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Ardenne Ecotourism Club<\/a> also means moving towards responsible tourism through the promotion of short circuits, soft mobility, and responsible management of tourist facilities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Among these criteria, here are those that <a href=\"https:\/\/relaisdugland.com\/en\/unusual-accommodation-liglhoux\/\">Igl&#8217;houx<\/a> positively meets:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Promoting <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.visitardenne.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Ardenne brand<\/a> and its providers,<\/strong> committing to the network&#8217;s service, and sharing its information,<\/li>\n<li><strong>Communicating its commitment<\/strong> through presence on the Internet via a website or on social media, providing brochures (on-site or on its website) for visitors to learn about various tourist offers and local producers,<\/li>\n<li><strong>Managing water responsibly<\/strong> :\n<ul>\n<li>Non-artificialization of soils (use of chipped wood for the pedestrian path),<\/li>\n<li>Implementation of a dry toilet system,<\/li>\n<li>Installation of a rainwater harvesting system,<\/li>\n<li>Recycling of water from certain uses (rinsing, cooking water, water from carafes, etc.) for outdoor watering,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Conserving energy<\/strong> :\n<ul>\n<li>Monitoring electricity consumption, use of low-energy bulbs (LEDs),<\/li>\n<li>Installation of low-consumption electrical equipment (rated A+ or higher for most appliances),<\/li>\n<li>Use of a renewable energy heating system (wood, solar, etc.),<\/li>\n<li>Application of bioclimatism: The Igl&#8217;houx is communication through the use of the internet (website, social media, online sales, etc.),<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Consuming responsibly :<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>For breakfasts, selection of local and seasonal products,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Protecting biodiversity :<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Setting up a garden with various aromatic herbs,<\/li>\n<li>Installation of an insect hotel and 2 birdhouses,<\/li>\n<li>No use of insecticides or chemical fungicides,<\/li>\n<li>Responsible management of hedges (pruning outside of nesting periods),<\/li>\n<li>Provision of a pond or vegetated water body,<\/li>\n<li>Preservation of dead trees or deadwood on the ground,<\/li>\n<li>Partnerships with local organizations (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.parc-naturel-ardennes.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Regional Natural Park of the Ardennes<\/a>) for the valorization of knowledge about local species and their observation,<\/li>\n<li>Composting of bio-waste,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Soft mobility :<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Provision of dedicated bicycle parking spaces,<\/li>\n<li>Provision of parking spaces equipped with outlets for electric cars\/bicycles,<\/li>\n<li>Communicating clear instructions for engaging in activities around my site without a car,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Raising awareness and informing your customers :<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Highlighting local, seasonal, organic agricultural products, as well as regional cuisine,<\/li>\n<li>Raising awareness about observing wildlife and flora, biodiversity, and the environment,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Local life :<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>I am a partner in at least one event per year related to the residents or associations of the municipality (town hall and events committee of Brognon),<\/li>\n<li>The organization supports a local association by offering time, lending equipment, or any form of significant assistance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>The Ardenne brand<\/h1>\n<div class=\"flex flex-grow flex-col max-w-full\">\n<div class=\"min-h-[20px] text-message flex flex-col items-start gap-3 prose w-full break-words dark:prose-invert light\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pro.visitardenne.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Ardenne brand<\/a>, among other things, carries <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.visitardenne.com\/demarche-ecotouristique-rejoindre-le-club-ardenne-ecotourism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Ardenne Ecotourism club<\/a>, making its image shine beyond borders and establishing it as a must-visit destination. The purpose of this guide was to highlight the best places for eating and drinking well, showcasing local producers\/artisans, markets, stores selling local products, and restaurants featuring regional products.<\/p>\n<p>Although there hasn&#8217;t been a publication since, I continue to uphold these values of promoting short circuits through the Relais du Gland (located 50 meters from the <a href=\"https:\/\/relaisdugland.com\/en\/unusual-accommodation-liglhoux\/\">Igl&#8217;houx<\/a>), which is open during the warmer months and offers local drinks and appetizer platters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>The values of the Ardenne brand<\/h2>\n<p>Carried by the members of <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.visitardenne.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Ardenne brand<\/a>, these values are also at the heart of every Ardennes resident, proud of their region and its history :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Well-being<\/strong>: a land of tranquility, serenity, balance,<br \/>\nvitality, and freedom.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Authenticity<\/strong>: a territory imbued with naturalness, purity,<br \/>\nfocused on nature, ecology, blending simplicity and loyalty.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Imagination<\/strong>: a place of dreams and poetry, of romance,<br \/>\nbut also of creativity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sharing<\/strong>: a land of hospitality, listening, respect, meeting,<br \/>\nand exchange.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A club reflecting our region The Ardenne Ecotourism Club is, above all, a network of tourism professionals committed to respecting the environment and promoting local products in the French, Belgian, and Luxembourgish territories.
