An Inn with a unique spirit

Relais du Gland in Brognon with outdoor tables

Relais du Gland in Brognon with outdoor tables

The Relais du Gland is a typical bar, reminiscent of an estaminet in its original state, designed to welcome hikers in search of a quiet place to drink and/or eat.

Inspired by the Cafés Rando Nord established by the Nord department, the idea is to develop stopping points along or near hiking trails.

The setting is that of an old century-old farmhouse built with materials from the time, representative of buildings in this region of the Ardennes Thiérache, located in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of the Ardennes.

With herbaceous areas and pasture nearby, equids (horses, donkeys) are also welcome.

Our four-legged friends also appreciate resting at the relais and being able to refresh themselves there.

If you’re feeling a bit peckish, appetizer platters are available featuring locally sourced products: there are several farmers’ markets in the vicinity, both in France and Belgium. Highlighting them allows for a better understanding and appreciation of their products and craftsmanship.

Among them, there are notably :

  • The gourmet Tuesdays in Signy-Le-Petit take place every first Tuesday of the month from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm (5 minutes by car)
  • The Jardin de Perrine market at Trou de la Sormonne in Beaulieu takes place every third Saturday of the month from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (10 minutes by car)
  • The Harcy market takes place every first Friday of the month from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm (30 minutes by car)
  • The Terroir and Crafts Market of the Natural Park in Nismes – Viroinval, Belgium, takes place on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (35 minutes by car).
